Class Info

Classes run as courses (block of sessions), costing £9.50 per person per class. Places should be booked in advance and payment for the whole course is on the first session. Check the weekly timetable for times and level and the course info for dates and costs.

Unfortunately there are no refunds for missed classes due to social events or holidays, however in cases of more serious illness, a ‘catch-up’ class will be offered where possible.

The number of participants in each class is limited to 12. Please contact Nicki regarding availability/booking for the next set of courses.

What to bring/wear – mats and other equipment is provided. We exercise barefoot, wearing clothing that is non-restrictive and comfortable.

All group classes are held at the Hills Road Sports and Tennis Centre, Purbeck Road, CB2 8PF.

  • Beg = Beginner (level 1)
  • L2 = Level 2 easy intermediate or maintenance
  • L3 = Level 3 for intermediates
  • L4 = Level 4 for intermediate to advanced

level1Beg /Level 1 – beginners. This course provides the foundation concepts of core-control, alignment and the breathing technique.   The exercises are typically light load and well supported which makes them suitable for all new to Pilates as well as those recovering from injury.

 

 

level2Level 2 – improver. Pilates preparation exercises to­ begin to develop core strength and endurance. In this course we refine technique, increase range-of-motion and add more exercises from the repertoire.

 

 

level3Level 3 – intermediate. Pilates for those who have mastered the basics and want more challenging exercises. In these classes we increase loading and add more complex co-ordination patterns.

 

 

level4Level 4 – advanced. Pilates for those who have completed an intermediate course and want to work with the more choreographed flowing movement sequences. More emphasis is placed on upper body strength and pushing away from the mat to utilise gravity and increase the pacing.
